1 October 2022 - Chill time before we cross the border

I'll forwarn you now. This is the least interesting blog update of the trip so far by a country mile. I'm sure your Saturdays have been infinitely more interesting. If they haven't then what the hell are you doing with your lives?
I haven't even ventured out of the campsite all day. Lisa did briefly go for a walk while I tried to fix the sticky blind on our bedroom skylight. I was semi-succesful but Lisa came across a broken bridge covered in no entry tape and so returned very promptly. We've basically had to console ourselves with views of Portugal across the river in the knowledge that with a fair wind we will be there tomorrow. We have monopolised the washers and dryers and succesfully laundered everything that was even remotely dirty. The new duvet cover, which we bought on the hoof after finding one of the sets we left home with was in fact a single, got its first airing. The pillowcases are square, which is a bit weird but they'll do and it gives me an excuse to show off our big comfy bed. Is it any wonder we get a good 8 hours' kip most nights! The rest of the day was spent cleaning the van out, listening to the Tractor Boys' thrilling 3-2 win over Pompey, and generally putting together a rough idea of where we are heading for over the next few days, once we get into Portugal. We had decided to treat ourselves to a meal out at the campsite restaurant this evening but even here they don't start serving food until 8pm so we made do with DIY tapas from the store cupboard and the fridge.I'm exhausted after all that lot!
