19 September 2023 – A Blustery Day

We got battered by the rain and buffeted by the wind throughout the night and I got thoroughly soaked as we prepped to leave Little Nook this morning.  Typical Pennines weather.  I should be used to it by now. 

The rain continued for the first part of the journey but predomnantly dried up shortly after we hit the A1.  However the strong gusting winds continued throughout the journey and made it an interesting drive on exposed stretches where it broadsided us.

Otherwise it was a fairly uneventful drive.  We are very accustomed to making the journey between our respective homes and knew to expect a delay at the roadworks just after we turned off the M62 and onto the A1 but otherwise there were no real issues to report.

We managed to park the van opposite our driveway, which always makes unloading easier, before delivering her back to her storage depot 2 miles away.  She's not going into mothballs for the winter just yet though.  We have one more festival to look forward to at the end of the month and may be able to sneak in a couple of extra days away on either side.  After that - who knows?
