5 November 2022 - Beach Bums

We've had a properly lazy day today, although we did manage to get the bikes out of the garage this morning.  We cycled up to the far end of Los Canos de Meca.  The tide was well in but when it's not this portion of the beach is a designated nudist area.

We looped back round and headed off in the opposite direction to the long stretch of beach which lies on the other side of the rocky peninsular of the Trafalgar lighthouse.  The naturists were out and about here too, although I made sure that their modesty was maintained behind the spiky thing in the foreground of this shot.

This afternoon we donned our trunks and wandered back down to our local stretch of sand.  I don't recall ever having swum in the sea in November before so I have now put that record straight.  We slept in the sun and stared at the horizon and realised that we could actually see the hills of the Morrocan coast.  It's quite humbling to think that we have actually driven all the way from home to a point where we can see Africa.  And also quite daunting that we have to drive all the way back again by this time next month.
